Bio:

Jennifer Rountree, Ph.D.: Women and Sustainability: Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in psychology from Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center in San Francisco, California. For her dissertation, she conducted a case study of a Mayan community development and restorative agriculture project in San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala. Jennifer has published several articles on social justice issues, and assisted in the writing of an academic text on global structural violence entitled, Who benefits from global violence and war: Uncovering a destructive system (Praeger, 2008).

Mission

The central purpose and role of Larger Visions is to educate and support emergent women leaders dedicated to social change as well as provide effective outreach programs for victims of gender-based violence.

Goals

-To promote and strengthen women’s leadership through progressive education grants

-To decrease the effects of gender-based violence through providing safe-houses with comprehensive programming to victims of gender-based violence.

-To increase awareness about gender-based violence and its effects through education
